‘Edu’ Eduardo Torres – Eduardo Acosta Torres, Randazzo
Our first meeting with Edo was when he was doing “stage” at Arianna Occhipinti in Vittoria, 4 years ago. Since he’s from some obscure village in the northern Tenerife he didn’t speak a word of English and by that time it seemed like not many words of Italian either, so the communication was really non existing.
He was our chauffeur around Etna, doing cooking, cleaning and all other stuff he was asked to, always with a certain look on his boss. And that paid off. Two years later when we came back to Sicily, he was still there. He has his own two vineyards on Etna now, made his first vintage 2014 and released it in 2016.
Edo harvests his grapes and drives them to Arianna in Vittoria, where vinification and ageing takes place. To be able to do it this way, he harvests the grapes one day earlier, to avoid overripe fruit.
We are super excited about his elegant and vibrant expression of the fruit from Etna.
