Eduardo Torres Acosta, Randazzo

Our first meeting with Edo was in 2012, when he was doing “stage” at Arianna Occhipinti in Vittoria. Since he’s from some obscure village in the northern Tenerife he didn’t speak a word of English and by that time it seemed like not many words of Italian either, so the communication was really non existing.

And, he decided to stay. Etna was the place for him to make wine, born and raised on a volcanic island as he is, it felt like home. His first vintage was made 2014 and released in 2016.
Today he has 5 ha of vineyards in total, where half of it is his own,
the other is on long contract rents.

The first 4 years, Edo harvested his grapes and drove them to Arianna in Vitoria, where vinification and ageing took place. But since 2018 he has his own cellar in Randazzo, close to his vineyards. His girlfriend Giulia is also involved in the business today and they now have 8 different vineyards spread out over a range of altitudes, expositions & soils around Etna that all show the varied faces of the area.

We are super excited about his elegant and vibrant expression of the fruit from Etna.
